OrionVM has been recognised as a finalist in the 2014 American Business Awards for its wholesale cloud platform service. The Aussie startup has been nominated for a 'Stevie' in the new products & services category.
It’s not every day that you meet a company foolish enough to take on the might of Amazon Web Services (AWS). But then again, OrionVM is an exceptional case. It has all the hallmarks of a giant killer.
Yeo and his developers in Sydney, Australia, modeled their cloud on breakthroughs in supercomputer architecture. Their custom technology, built from the ground up, yields an IaaS environment that is extremely reliable, flexible, and efficient.
OrionVM has seen immense growth in the past year propelled by surging demand for its channel-focused IaaS platform. According to today’s announcement, the company continues its strong growth trajectory with the opening of a new office in San Francisco, new technology partnerships, and enhancements to its wholesale cloud platform.
In conjunction with the US expansion, OrionVM has unveiled a new pricing scheme and improved technical features for its wholesale cloud offering. The company said it offers pricing margins up to "80 percent percent less than competitors" and storage performance "40 to 1000 times" of a standard Amazon server.
