Equinix has admitted a swathe of cloud service providers into its Cloud Exchange program.
A total of 21 partners were signed up, including Bulletproof, Datacom, VMtech, Nexon and Zettagrid. The CSPs will be able to host their services in Equinix's five Australian locations, including four data Sydney data centres SY1, 2, 3 and 4, and Melbourne's ME1.
Other new Cloud Exchange members include Access4, ASE, BroadSoft, Cloud365, CloudCentral, Comscentre, Fastrack Technology, Genisys, GCOMM, Hypernode, Interactive, Micron21, OrionVM, RackCorp Secure Cloud, Servers Australia, and Zadara Storage.
Zettagrid and Servers Australia had previously been named as partners when Equinix opened its fourth Sydney data centre in August.
The Cloud Exchange program gives partners access to infrastructure-as-a-service offerings like storage, cloud computing applications like unified communications and remote device management.
Partners can connect to 600 customers in Australia, including 225 cloud providers and 140 network service providers, from Equinix's data centres.
Equinix hosts services for some of the world's largest cloud providers, including Amazon Web Services Direct Connect, IBM SoftLayer Direct Link, Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute and Oracle Cloud FastConnect.
Bulletproof chief executive Anthony Woodward said joining the Cloud Exchange was a logical extension for the company, which has traditionally been known as an AWS partner. Bulletproof recently launched Microsoft Azure-based cloud services of its own to satisfy customer demand for multiple clouds.
"Joining the Equinix Cloud Exchange was a logical extension to enable our multi-cloud service offerings that leverage our own, VMware-based private cloud, along with those offerings that add value to the global hyper-scale providers such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure," he said.
Equinix managing director Jeremy Deutsch said the new CSPs would ensure hybrid multi-cloud technology continues its momentum in Australia.
"For Australian enterprise CIOs, this is proof that Equinix is delivering on our promise to be the best place to enable their journey to hybrid cloud by ensuring the broadest set of choices to leverage for best fit for their needs," he said.
